MyTwoFrontTeeth.org Wins Top Honors in Two Social Entrepreneurship Competitions
Fantastic Social and Financial Returns Help MTFT Earn Honors and $30k

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – June 15, 2003 – MyTwoFrontTeeth.org is proud to announce today that it has taken second place in two major social entrepreneurship business plan competitions:

Non-Profit Funding Competition
National competition organized by Social Stimulus and underwritten by the Keiretsu Forum Charitable Foundation.
2nd Place Prize: $25k

Stanford BASES Social E-Challenge
Stanford-specific competition hosted by the Business Association of Stanford Engineering Students.
Runner-Up Prize: $5k

Building on four past seasons of fantastic success, MyTwoFrontTeeth.org was able to craft its business plan based on actual historical data and well-grounded forecasts and assumptions;  this lead to a clear articulation of the business and operational models and a solid confidence in the team’s projections.  In both competitions, much emphasis was placed on an entrant’s ability to prove that its earned-income strategies could eventually lead to self-sustenance, a clear strength for MyTwoFrontTeeth.org.

Since 1999, MyTwoFrontTeeth.org has helped fulfill the holiday wishes of thousands of children throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.  In addition to the sheer joy brought to both the kids and donors, MyTwoFrontTeeth.org's Social Return on Investment (SROI) has quantitatively manifested itself in thousands of dollars and hours saved for its affiliate community organizations and their volunteers.  Underlying its social mission, MTFT's merchandiser-like business model also ensures the organization's continued self-sustainability.

“We are extremely pleased and honored to have won top honors in these two competitions,” stated Josh McFarland, MyTwoFrontTeeth.org CEO, “It is very rewarding to have the external validation and support that comes from winning competitions like these, both in terms of prestige and actual funding.”

MyTwoFrontTeeth.org will be using the $30,000 in total winnings to fuel its expansion throughout the 2003 holiday season and beyond.  The primary initial use of funds will be to hire at least one fulltime staff member to manage this year’s efforts, which will be significantly greater in scope and scale than previous years.  For a complete copy of  the MyTwoFrontTeeth.org business plan, please contact Josh McFarland.
